starting a new blog about food.

Hello peeps, 

As you all know, I love to cook and bake. Since I was a child, my mum has taught me baking and cooking. I believe around 7 years old, I will be nosy when my mom in the kitchen baking some cakes. I still remember vividly that my mum will let me lick the K-beater out of the mixer bowl after she was done mixing cake batter. And since then, my passion and love for baking and cooking began. I wonder what magic applies to the mixer bowl when all the ingredients combined can produce such beautiful flavour!

I want to do all of the cooking, photography and writing here at MakanMakan exclusively at Emir Sabarudin. I spent many years cooking and baking in the comfort zone, replicating my family’s Johorean delicious secret recipes. When I moved from Malaysia to the UK for my studies, I was introduced to a new, intriguing food scene that would eventually ignite my passion for culinary exploration.

In this space, I want to share fresh, flavorful, (mostly) healthy recipes and a bit of sinful food that I love to make and eat in my real, actual, everyday life. If I wouldn’t eat it in real life, I won’t put it on the blog. My goal is to inspire you with food that is both approachable and exciting, whether you’re cooking for yourself, your family, your roommates, or your friends. I want you to be so excited about these recipes that you eagerly await 5 pm when you can go home from work and start cooking and baking.
