ten tips to get out of debt.

Hello peeps,

Here I want to share with you top ten tips how to get out of debt. This is going to be a quick write up tonight and I won’t beat around the bush. Let’s jump directly down here;

one.

Move in with your parents (seriously, even if you’re over 30). If you’re lucky enough to still have your parents around, this is going to rapidly increase how quickly you can pay off your debt.

two.

Stop buying crap you don’t need. Enough said.

three.

Start a freelance business or side hustle. If you build the right skills, freelance and consulting is one of the best ways to increase your income over a short period of time.

four.

Invest in your personal and professional development. Buy books, courses and tools that will help you increase your value to employers and clients. As the old adage goes, you’ve gotta spend money to make money (just don’t buy into those get-rich-quick courses).

five.

Say yes to everything (except maybe drugs). I was never too good for a video project. Hell, I once planned someone’s 60th birthday party. And you better believe I took that RM500 and threw it right at my loans.

six.

Track your progress in a spreadsheet. Pull together the total amounts, monthly payments and interest rates for each of your loans. Check it frequently (even if it’s barely moving).

seven.

Read one book a year on personal finance. It’s not about learning new information as much as it’s a reminder to keep going.

eight.

Curate your social feeds with personal finance experts and positive influences (and unfollow all the people making you feel incomplete).

nine.

Make room to celebrate and enjoy life along the way. Maybe create different milestones and rewards as you progress from debt-filled to debt-free.

ten.

It doesn’t matter how much money you make, if you don’t get serious about cutting back on your spending. I know plenty of people who make six figures that still haven’t made a dent in their student loans.

If you’ve got a personal finance success story of your own, please text or DM me on insta or at emir@emirsabarudin.com. I’d love to share some with people on Instagram. Perhaps you can inspired others by hearing from your personal experienced.

Talk to you soon,
Love,
EMIR xx
